Clay Aiken winner due to…. deceased opponent--WHAT?

This story just gets weirder as it goes on.  When I first read that Clay Aiken was getting into politics I thought it was some kind of joke, but obviously not.  Now his opponent just died….what do you do in that situation?  Guess they probably won't be counting "hanging chads."
